The Score

The Score is a traditional heistmovie, in which Robert De Niro plays the professional burglar Nick Wells. He is seriously considering to retire and live off his jazzclub in Montreal where he lives. He would also like to spend more quality time with his girlfriend Diane.
It would be nice with a little extra cash in the bank, though, so when his old contact Max presents him with the score of his life, it is difficult to say no. The object is an old, extremely valuable sceptre, which is currently guarded in the Montreal Customs House.
Yet, Nick is reluctant to accept the job for two reasons. Firstly, he has to work with a partner, the young and cocky Jackie, and he has always worked alone. Secondly, he has to operate in his own backyard, Montreal, and that is against his principles too, but how can he turn down millions of dollars in the end?
The Score is a solid production, but in spite of some surprising twists it seems as if we have seen it all somewhere else before.
