Disney's Mulan

Disney's Mulan is an exciting, funny and romantic Disney production about a Chinese girl, Mulan, who disguises herself as a man and is enrolled in the army under the name of her father. As the terrible Huns are invading China, one man from each family must join the army, but Mulan's father is an invalid and Mulan is his only child. To spare her father Mulan goes to war with a secret that can cost her her life if found out. Mulan is a brave, resourceful and stubborn heroine who ends up playing a leading role in the war between the imperial troops and the Huns.
Mulan is distinguished by an excellent score (by Jerry Goldsmith), but the songs, however catchy they are, are superfluous. The visual style, which is inspired by Chinese painting, is a refreshing development of Disney's classical technique.
