The Lady from Shanghai

The Lady from Shanghai is a film noir about a young Irish seaman, Michael O'Hara, who is attracted to a beautiful, young woman, Elsa Bannister. She turns out to be married, though. Michael is sceptical when the woman's older, crippled husband looks him up to offer him work on the couple's yacht, but Michael finally decides to take the job. Later on he wish he had not.
The best part of the film is not the contrived plot, but the brilliant ending in the funhouse, the absolute highlight of the film.
