Rounders

Mike is a young law student with a nice girlfriend and a promising future had it not been for his great passion, poker. Mike is gradually getting his gambling mania under control, but then his old friend Worm is released from prison. Worm has a huge debt and runs up even more in Mike's name so Mike is soon back at the poker table in order to pay the debt before he has to pay with a few broken bones or even worse - his life.
It is difficult to feel any interest in the story and the characters without having a certain fascination of the game of cards as much of the story takes place at the poker table and the main character is driven by his love for the game. Well, my interest in poker is limited.
John Malkovich gives an over-the-top performance; it is simply terrible.
